6897 posts · Joined 2003. #1 · Jan 25, 2015. My r150f in my taco is one sick puppy and needs a rebuild. I am order the parts from marlin and i am prepping to rebuild next month. I have never rebuilt a manual trans before, but have rebuilt 4 gear drive cases, and looking at the fsm the trans seems to be a bigger version of a gear drive case.I found out there's a lot of options for swapping transmissions on the 3RZ. Marlin Crawler's bell housing specifically made to mate the R series transmission (R150/R151 pre 96) that came with spacers to match the longer input shaft of the 96+ R150 has been discontinued. My solution is the 2TR 2.7 bell housing, which the 3RZ to the 1996+ R150 ...
