I have a 2011 Fj and have never had an issue with it. ...Ahh well in that case I'd say the amount that came out seems right. The fluid coming out of the check plug might have been affected by temperature. I know the check is designed to be done at a certain temperature, maybe 125°F but I'm not positive. If the transmission was at a different temperature that could have affected the level.One of my FJs has a transmission that has started to feel a tiny bit funny. Nothing drastic but after driving it for almost 18 years I know when things aren't "right". It's a little slow to downshift when coming to a stop. It still has the original transmission fluid (2007 with 100K miles) so I'm going to do a drain/fill.

I even assumed it was removed and looked for the insert tube for it and still couldn't find it. I've looked in the owners manual and it shows nothing.Any minuscule amount of water that may be absorbed into the fluid after it is in the transmission would undoubtedly be burnt off by operating temps much like any other lubricating fluid in the vehicle. It's a moot point. The hygroscopicity of the fluid has nothing to do with service interval.
