Really need some help here; when I bought my 1981 C10 truck 350 it had aftermarket temp gauge and sensor - so Im trying to get it back to stock; I have a brand new temperature gauge in dash - wiring from gauge to sensor works, i.e. if I ground the wire the gauge shoots up.Guage mfgs recommend putting the temp sender in the intake manifold close to the thermostate. If you put it in the block, you may get false readings and the guage will indicate high temp after you shut off the engine if it is close to the exhaust manifold. Fat47, Feb 15, 2010.
