GL-5 has additives that will destroy soft metals such as the brass in the synchronizers. I run Castrol Syntorq LT GL-4 in mine. Amsoil MTG, Redline, and a few others make decent GL-4, seems all of it is synthetic (read: $$). No one seems to make a dino-based GL-4 in the weight these transmissions need.I'm looking at putting a nv4500 into my '89 K1500. I just need a little more info than I know.
