Everyone refers to the gas boats as so bad on fuel. My 28 full of gas with 5 people and gear on it burns on average 26.5 GPH total at a 28 knot cruise. That number is from the flo-scan that I check each time I refuel. Can someone tell me if mine is normal or better. I rebuilt the carbs then I jetted them for the boat.Jan 27, 2010 · I feel compelled to weigh in here. Let me state first I've owned a 27' Albemarle (gas, 350's), a 28' Carolina Classic (gas, 454's) & my present boat, a 25' Carolina Classic (diesel). Additionally, I've over 200 hours on a 1983 24 foot Albe. Hopefully, my time on a 24' Albemarle gives me enough credibility to offer opinions on both boats.
