May 21, 2018 · The drive test came out negative, the axle still leaking. I thought the seal I applied (PC11) was enough to cover the scratches and gouges. All axles I saw in the forum were nice and smooth not like mine. I really don't know what is going wrong, the seal is correct and fit tight on axle shaft and in the tube.Synthetic is also much thinner which results in more seal seepage/leakage. I run and suggest Torco non synthetic in the 85w140 RGO. (Currie and Dynatrac suggest this) I was actually getting seepage of synthetic through the rosette welds and tube/case junction on my rear diff and it has ended once I switched to the Torco.I have 3 choices. 1) keep changing the oring and gasket as it leaks. cheapest solution but .... 2) replace the axle and hub (new bearings seals etc) 800$ and a lot of labor..... 3) modify the hub so it does't wobble.

That looks like your steering rack boot to me buddy. Thats the CV joint. If its thick grease, its from the CV joint. If its thin, its p.s. fluid or oil. Feb 20, 2021 · The cv axle has a flange that bolts up to the dif itself, so if you are leaking on the inside of the flange (towards the center of the truck), that would be your dif leaking.
