EDIT: Currently, three things (one of which is her diary) are missing of Tina’s (which we know because Kaelyn mentioned Tina’s supposed, ‘diary-mentioned’ crush at dinner, causing Jeremy to taunt Tina. 😵‍ 💫). Kaelyn admitted that she’d taken them, but seems to have lost them in her closet.Now my MIL is telling the family that I cut her out of the Mother's Day celebration because she was too frugal and wouldn't pander to a child. I know she is being ridiculous, but my husband is saying I could have just kept the peace for a couple of hours but I instead chose to act drastically.

You're being generous enough letting your sister stay there. However, maybe your sister should stay with your parents while the kid stays with BIL.
