The 'clockspring' beneath the steering wheel is used to pass the cruise control signals and, I think, the airbag control signal. It is a plastic looking spring that winds/unwinds as the wheel is turned, with connectors at each end. Here are my findings: 1.Pin #1 on the controller connects to Pin #12 on the back of the stock Focus radio. 2.Pin #2 on the controller connects to Pin #11 on the back of the stock Focus radio.Designed to be compatible with all major radio brands.
