4L60E to 4L80E Swap. I have a 99 Silverado 5.3L that I put a 4L80E in and rewired the harness and ran the new speed sensor to the PCM. I took it to the dealer to reprogram the shift settings and they reprogrammed it to a 4L60E (THE SAME THING IT HAD). Just wasted a week of time and $300 doing so. My tranny guy that redoes 4L60e's for a living said that as long as you don't run slicks and put in a shift kit you should be fine if the tranny is in good shape.
